Manufacturing Capabilities
Extrusion ratio is an important parameter in aluminum extrusion die design. It refers to the ratio of fin height to fin spacing.
A higher ratio makes die design more difficult, and generally should not exceed 20.
The diagonal length of an extruded heat sink must be controlled during design. Reducing diagonal length helps lower extrusion pressure and improve manufacturability.
As the number of dies increases, production cost per unit weight also increases.
